There was a nice turn out which included several of the newest group to take the TSC sailing lessons.
The weather was great almost all day for the 8 contenders that wanted to take the trophy from last trophy race winner. After several elimination races, long time member Richard Sebastian took the trophy home. Tremendous job! That was after spending the weekend teaching sailing class people what it’s like actually on the water. At some point there were new sailors getting their on the water lessons during the racing. The lake was busy.
Mardi and Bob Burden had the barbecue hot and ready to cook. The food was wonderful. Members out did themselves with side dishes galore.
How long has this race been held in the Spring and Fall? Fred Ray, the creator of the Top Gun Trophy, challenged “anyone that thinks they can take it away from me, try!”. The gauntlet was thrown and challenge accepted. That first race was in April 1989. There have been many races since then.
